T°facilitate further expansion of the Group's activities, David Brown Corporation, Ltd., has decided to separate the tractor, agricultural machinery and automobile sides. of its business from gear, foundry and fooloperations. BIRMINGHAM—MOTORWAY LINK TO BE WIDENED

THE three-lane A38 trunk road is to 1 he widened to provide a modern link between the northern end of the BristolBirmingham motorway, at Lydiate Ash, and the outskirts of Birmingham. Work is • expected to be completed by June, 1961, at a cost of about £125,000.

A contract valued at £329,216 has been placed for the first stage of the scheme to by-pass Port Talbot on the London-Fishguard trunk road. The existing road between Baglan and Briton Ferry will be converted into a dual 24-ft. carriageway with a round', hoot at Briton Ferry, where the road will join the new Neath by-pass. A roundabout will also be constructed at 13aglan, from which point the new by-pass will start.

The Minister of Transport has authorized the installation of 684 parking meters in Holborn to operate fronn October 3.
