L'OLLOWING An 'undertaking by Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., not to link services, objections to their application to divert town journeys to provide relief for local passengers using long-distance services at peak times, was withdrawn by the Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Electric Railway Co.,' at Llandudno, last week.
Mr. G. Penketh, district manager of Crosville, said that during the peak season local passengers had difficulty in boarding buses from Conway and .Caernarvon entering and leaving Llandudno via Craig-y-don. To relieve the situation they sought to divert West Shore journeys along this route, but this involved the use of one vehicle on two There was no intention to link by carrying passengers through Llandudno and onwards: buses would be emptied at the present terminals before starting on the outward journey. The Electric.. Railway already had fare protection on both routes, he added.
Mr. J. R. Amphlett, for the Electric'. Railway, said that their'objection would. be met if the buses ran empty between,. Clonmel Street and Trinity Square. They feared abstraction if the two services were linked to allow passengers to board the buses before the present starting points were reached.
Granting the application, Mr. F. Williamson. chairman, commented that he was glad to see a measure of agree ment between the parties.
