J. Richards (secretary) and Mr. G. J. Lynch (group chief engineer) become full directors of Duple Motor Bodies Ltd. Mr. E. T. Smith becomes chief engineer and Mr. R. H. Bennett chief designer. Mr. H. J. Bigg has relinquished his full-time employment as group general manager, but will remain a director of the parent company. • Mr. R. J. French has been appointed a director and Mr. G. H. A. Wells secretary of Duple Motor Bodies (Northern) Ltd. and Bifort Engineering Ltd. Mr. W. L. Lockyer has been appointed secretary of Willowbrook Ltd.
Mr. .1. W. Mathers has been elected technical director of Plaxtons (Scarborough) Ltd. He has been in the service of the company for some 30 years, the latter 19 years as works manager.
New managerial appointments have been announced by the Milk Marketing Board. In the transport fleet division, Mr. A. Barclay Inglis, formerly head of the creameries division, takes control of the Board's transport fleet, which has some 30 units from which operate nearly 1,000 collection and delivery vehicles. Mr. D. L. Armstrong, who has been head of the marketing division since October, 1963, becomes head of the creameries division. In the marketing division, the responsibilities formerly discharged by Dr. Armstrong are taken over by Mr. H. J. Richards" as head of the farm supplies division. This division will also deal with the organization of the transport—churn and bulk—of producers' milk. Mr. W. F. Spencer continues to control the work of the milk movements department. The remaining duties concerning distributors and manufacturers now come under the control of Mr. M. E. Bessey, who has been promoted head of the marketing division.
Mr. LeVern G. Miller, treasurer of Vauxhall Motors Ltd„ has been elected to the board of the company, Mr. Miller, who is 57, joined Vauxhall in 1955 as assistant treasurer and became treasurer last November.
Mr. John G. Bruce has been appointed an officer of London Transport Board with the title of assistant claims officer. Mr. Bruce, who is 56, started with London Transport in the claims office in 1935 after serving on the staff of a motor and accident insurance company and was appointed a senior executive assistant in 1950. He was promoted to principal executive assistant in 1958. Mr. Frank Perkins, founder in 1932 of the Peterborough diesel engine firm of F. Perkins Ltd. and the Perkins Group, has married Mrs. Vera Dixon, of London. Mr. Perkins, who is 75 and a widower, was president. of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in 1956. Mrs. Dixon is a widow.
In accordance with arrangements made in 1963, Mr. F. A. Jackman has relinquished the post of deputy chairman of Carless, Capel and Leonard Ltd. and is now a joint managing director.
Mr. James W. Ward, manager of the Upper Wharfedale section of the West Yorkshire Road Car Co., has retired after 41 years in public transport. He started as a maintenance mechanic for the first buses of Burnley Corporation in 1924 and has been with West Yorkshire since 1930.
Mr. A. Tetley has retired after nearly 40 years with the transport department of the Bradford Dyers' Association at Thornton Road, Bradford. For the last seven years he was transport supervisor.
• Mr. G. Veronesi, at present general manager of Pirelli Ltd., has been appointed managing director.
Mr. N. J. Wilson, who was automotive products manager of the Power Petroleum Co. Ltd., is now manager of the company's London division, succeeding Mr. G. A. Long. Mr. Wilson has 26 years' service with Power Petroleum and for most of this time was a district manager in the company's north-eastern division in Yorkshire. Mr. R. P. Elliott, national sales manager of Power Petroleum, has now assumed the additional appointment of automotive products manager. He joined the company in 1958 as a sales representative in Newcastle.
Mr. A. M. Aleock has relinquished his executive duties with East Lancashire Coachbuilders Ltd., Blackburn, but will continue as vice-chairman, serving the company in a consultative capacity.
Mr. J. A. Matthews has joined Arlington Motor Co. Ltd. as Midland and Western area representative, passenger
vehicle sales. Mr. Matthews has had considerable experience in connection with fleet sales for Saville Motor Sales Ltd., Stratford-upon-Avon.
Mr. C. E. Dunlop, road passenger manager (operating) of Ulster Transport Authority, retired on December 31 last. He entered the service of the former L.M.S. (N.C.C.) Railway in 1921, and transferred to the Northern Ireland Road Transport Board in 1936. C.B.E.: Mr. R. W.
