ERMISSION was granted lay . Mr.
S. W. Nelson, Western Licensing Authority, to Messrs. Morgan's Transport, Bristol, last week to add a vehicle of 5 tons 16 cwt. to their fleet to carry containers, agricultural goods and building materials within .a 200-mile radius.
Mr. G. Morgan. a partner in the appli: cant firm, said that the extra vehicle was required to convey containers for the John Player company, Nottingham.
For-the railways, who objectod, it was stated that the makers of the cartons had a private siding at Bristol, and a grant would mean an abstraction of traffic.
SIGNS FOR TESTING STATIONS
THE Minister of Transport is soon to lay before Parliament regulations governing the periodic testing of vehicles
in public garages. Premises approved by the Ministry will he required to display a distinctive sign, the form, size and colour of which will be prescribed.
Details of the sign are now available to bona fide sign manufacturers. They should apply in writing for particulars to the Ministry of Transport (VRT Division), Berkeley Square House, London, W.I.
N.A.F.W.R. FOR BOURNEMOUTH THE National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers will hold their annual conference at Bournemouth from May 2-3. Proceedings will open on the afternoon of May 2, and there will be two business sessions on May 3.
The British Association of Overseas Furniture Removers will hold a one-day conference on May 4, also in Bournemouth.
