DURCHASE tax and the uncertainty
created by denationalization caused the sales of commercial vehicles by Kennings, Ltd., to be far lower last year than normal, said Sir George Kenning, chairman, at the annual meeting last week. It had also been an unsatisfactory year in tyre trading.
On the other hand, Wales and Edwards, Ltd., Shrewsbury, subsidiaries of Kennings, Ltd., had a good year in the manufacture of electric vehicles.
