A.R.O. Western Area was able to co-operate with the Post Office during the Christmas season by submitting a list of members who were in a position to hire vehicles to the Post Office, and in arranging for the work to be done at. an agreed rate. The area secretary has now received from the postmaster surveyor, at Bristol, an acknowledgment of the. " valuable assistance rendered by the Association.

A.R.O. Nominations.

Mr. D. Richardson and Mr. R.. W. SewiII have been nominated to represent A.R.O. on the National Joint Conciliation Board. A.R.O. nominations for the British Road Federation are Messrs. R. Birch and E. B. Hutchinson, representing the passenger side, whilst Major the Hon. Eric Long is to represent the haulage branch, New Secretary for A.R.O. East Midland Area.

Following the resignation of Mr. E. 0. Gray, Mr. P. J. Authers, secretary of the A.R.O. Eastern Area, has been appointed to act as secretary for both the Eastern and East Midland Areas for the time being. His headquarters will he at 61, Hurst Park Avenue, Cambridge.
