• The new shape Fiat Punta Is now on sale in the UK. Fiat is boasting a range of improvements over the outgoing model including 60kg more payload at 510kg and a new engine. Loadspace also Increases In size slightly, the new shape being a tittle bigger than the old design.
The 1.9-litre indirect-injection develops 60hp (45kW) at 4,500rpm with a peak torque figure of 118Nm (87Ibft) at 2,250rpm. Fiat says the fourcylinder engine is more efficient that Its predecessor's and will got the new Punto to 96mph. A 1.2-litre petrol engine is also available developing 60hp (45kW) at 5,000rpm and torque of 102Km (75ibft) at 2,500rpm.
Standard equipment includes Fiat's Dualdrive power steering system with Its City setting reducing driver effort to a minimum. Steering wheel is heightadjustable as standard, as is a driver's airbag. Prices start at .97,495 (ex-VAT) for the diesel-powered version and 97;195 (ex-VAT) for the petrol model.
