Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BR1T1S1 I TELECOM has introduced a customised computer network to manage the maintenance of its 60,000 commercial vehicles and cars.

The .0 million system, called MOVIT (Management Of Vehicles In Telecom), was developed by ICE UK to log the service record and costs for each vehicle in the fleet.

It identifies which vehicles perform best and most economically, highlights service problems as they arise and helps make more efficient use of the workshops and spares stocks.

It is linked into British Telecom's finance systems.

According to Telecom 's director of energy, transport and accommodation, Douglas Dick: "MOVIE gives us the best possible use from our fleet and maximises workshop resources while helping us to

keep a closer watch on costs.

'It has stcamlined the ordering and delivery of new vehicles and can guide the choice of replacement vehicles and components as well as recoding disposal data.

"Before any job is per formed, history files are accessed and estimates produced to control maintenance before action is taken," he said.

The system, which uses 60 mini-computers, connects 48 service control centres and 10 regional offices with Telecom's transport headquarters in London.
