Bell to manage sales in NFC group's four specialist divisions

GENERAL sales manager for NFC Distribution Group is David Bell. He has been appointed to manage the group sales team representing its four specialist divisions — SPD, SPD Contract Distribution, Carrycare and GDS. He will also be responsible for developing new business and will handle a number of the group's major accounts. He will be based at the National Freight Consortium's headquarters in Bedford.
Bell started his career in distribution in 1967 as a management trainee with NEC, and over the next six years worked as depot manager at the company's branches in the West Country and London. The following seven years were spent with the Keymarket supermarket chain, where he was transport manager and distribution controller. After rejoining NEC in 1983 as distribution manager for BRS Southern he was appointed retail development manager for SPD, a post he held until his current appointment.
