£300,000 FOR HOTELS AND MEALS

LAST year. the Scottish Omnibuses Group paid £300.000 to hotels and catering establishments in Scotland. The cost of hotel accommodation represented 60,?70 per cent. of the inclusive charge on tours. run hy the group.

This information was given by the chairman, Mr. James Amos, in a paper on road passenger transport in Scotland, which he gave before the Irish Section of the Institute of-Transport in Dublin. on Tuesday.

Mr. Amos said the group spent about £35,000 a year on tourist literature. Some 14m, pieces of advertising matter were distributed in Scotland and abroad.
