Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Massey Truck Engineering of Sheffield has bought Bristolbased bodybuilder Taylor Bros, which went into liquidation in October.

Massey has taken over Taylor's Keynsham factory and staff: former managing director Jim Taylor is now general manager of the operation.

Massey is part of Mercantile group, which also owns Ford & Slater and Trailerent. Massey general manager Stuart Brooks says the acquisition is the first stage of an expansion drive into the south of England — the company hopes to buy another bodybuilder in the South-East next year.

Massey produces up to 80 trailers a month at Sheffield. The Keynsham factory is making about 40 units a month, including bodies, tippers, trailers and loaders.

Massey, which was part of Massey GRP, was acquired by Mercantile in February. The group also owns bodybuilder Lancashire Tippers of Bolton.

Brooks says Massey Truck Engineering does not want to be associated with the Taylor Bros name. He says the company went into liquidation and a second branch of MTE has been set up on the site.

Bodybuilder Boalloy has confirmed that it was initially interested in acquiring Taylor Bros, but subsequently decided against it.
