LEYLAND Vehicles managing director Ronald Hancock was committed for trial at the Old Bailey when he appeared before Guildhall magistrates last week, and was remanded on bail until February 20, when he faces one charge of insider shares dealing.
Former BL executive David Brooks was also committed for trial on charges of alleged insider dealings in the shares of Suter Electronics.
It is alleged that when BL sold its commercial refrigeration subsidiary, Prestcold Holding to Suter Electrical in January 1981, the two men were involved in inside dealings in Suter shares, in contravention of the 1980 Companies Act, (CM, November 17).
