Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I SEE there is a notice in the Manpower Moves page (CM November 17) which, of course, I ready assidiously, that I have "re-emerged" in the automotive industry generally as a senior consultant with SRI. The mention is appreciated but I think that in trimming the release to size, some confusion may well arise and I hope that CM may be able to add a "rider" in a future issue to clarify matters.

The release mentions SRI International as being based in California and it could be read that I am emigrating. In fact, while SRI's headquarters are in California, alongside Stanford University, which spawned the Institute, the headquarters of its activities covering UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa are here in Croydon and it is from this base that I am working, exclusively involved in the automotive sector whether cv, car or component.

In view of my very long association with trucks, I think it likely that involvement in that side of the industry could become considerable. We have here much good background knowledge on various subjects and can also seek opinion from our Californian colleagues on US trends in the automotive world — CM may sometimes want to ask our view on a matter of import to your readership!
