Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FIRST of the re-named Foden Haulmaster eight-wheel rigids has come of the production line at Elworth Works, Sandbach.

Featuring the S10 cab, a composite structure of tubular steel and grp, the eight-wheelers are intended to win Fodens back its share of this market.

A weight-saving of around 152kg (3cwt) is claimed for the composite cab over the Motor Panels steel version.

Although the Motor Panels cab is directly replaceable for the S10, Fodens is not offering the former as an option on the eight-wheeler.

However the sleeper version of the Motor Panels cab is an option on Fleetmaster tractive units. The S10 is standard.

Fodens expect around 90 per cent of the eight-wheelers to be specified with Gardner engines coupled to its own eight-speed range-change box.
