Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GIANT and light-truck radial-ply tyres introduced by Pirelli are said to be the first covers of their kind in the UK to incorporate a specially developed shoulder to reduce sidewall damage, give better grip, more road contact and increased mileage.

The tread pattern and safety shoulder of the Cinturato Giant and Light Truck P555s are designed to give high cornering power, uniformity of wear (especially on front axles) and straight running. The covers have a special multi-ply textile carcase with a reinforced belt of metal plies beneath the tread. Because the new radials' treads continue on to the sidewalls, load distribution over the contact area remains uniform, so offering greater tread mileage.

The Light Truck P555 radial is of the same type of construction as the giant cover and offers the same advantages. The giant radial is available in sizes of 7.50-20 (12 ply), 8.25-20 (14 ply), 9.00 —20 (14 ply), 10.00-20 (14 ply) and 10.00-20 (16 ply). The Light Truck radial is made in sizes of 6.50-16 and 7.00-16, both in 10 ply rating, and 7.50-16 (12 ply).

Also new from Pirelli is the Nylon Cross Grip P522. The introduction of a nylon casing for this cover brings an improvement in resistance to bursts, fractures and other hazards. This conventional cover also has specially developed beads that give stronger resistance to flange damage and heavy loading. It is produced especially for drive axles and has an extra-deep, broad continuous centre tread and angled lateral ribs. Sizes made are 9.00-20 (12 and 14 ply) and 10.00-20 (14 and 16 ply).
