Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW suspension seat was demonstrated by the makers, Bostrom Manufacturing Co. Ltd. at a press reception near Northampton last week.

Called the Viking 4000, the seat is a development of the 3000 model, and has overcome the cab space problems which were encountered with the earlier design. This has been achieved by a more compact suspension mechanism, which incorporates a hydraulically damped triple-torsion-bar unit.

Facilities for adjustment to suit all sizes of driver are features of this seat; the suspension unit can be softened or hardened by a simple lever which gives maximum comfort for any driver weighing between eight and 20 stones. The correct setting is visible on a meter-scale; when the pointer is central on the scale, the seat is correctly set for its particular load.

Vehicles and test rigs were provided by Bostrom for its guests to really put the seat through its paces. The model had previously been rigorously tested at Cranfield where the proceedings were filmed. Both onand off-the-vehicle tests were carried out, and high efficiencies were recorded.

The Viking 4000 is constructed of welded steel tubing, and the cushioning is moulded polyurethane. Breathable panels are provided in the seat and backrest, which are both finished in PVC coated material.

Complete installation kits can be provided for all leading makes of p.s.v. and commercial vehicle.
