DRAKE CARRIERS LTD.'s application for four vans on A licence to carry household furniture and general goods in London and to and from all parts of the United Kingdom has been refused by the Metropolitan LA, Mr. D. I. R. Muir.

In a written decision issued this week Mr. Muir states: "I think the applicant company, by their casual attitude to these applications, may have been anticipating events and this is something which I am unable to do". Drake Carriers had failed to produce customer evidence in support of the application. The only support was a letter from Hoover Ltd. and this was not directly concerned with Metropolitan area traffic.

An application by the company to vary its licence by adding one artic was granted subject to this vehicle being deleted from a licence held by Drake in the Western Traffic area.
