THE NEW Highway Statistics, 1966, compiled by the Ministry of Transport, is now available from HM Stationery Office, price lOs 6d. It reveals that the total tonnage moved by road in 1966 was estimated at 1,450m-20m more than in 1965. But the total number of goods vehicles declined from 1,666,000 in 1965 to 1,637,000 in 1966.
