Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE proposal of the Government's' I Departmental Committee on Road Safety to raise the speed limit for goods vehicles without trailers from 30 to 40 m.p.h. is welcomed by Traders Road Transport Association.

In a statement the association points Out that representations to the Ministry of Transport were made some time ago stressing the desirability of this step and giving details of a• study conducted among member-firms.

"During our talks," continues the statement, "we also suggested the raising of the speed limit to 50 m.p.h. for lighter vehicles. There is certainly no technical reason why vehicles such as those with a car-type 'chassis should not be permitted to travel at this higher speed."
