PERMISSION has been granted to Leyland Motors, Ltd., by the Lancashire County Council to use private roads and runways on the former Burscough airfield for research testing of prototype vehicles.
Ormskirk Council objected on the grounds that it would not be a proper use of the land which should revert back to agriculture. The County .Council imposed conditions to safeguard adjoining agricultural land and to limit the hours of use.
