THE Executive Committee of the Lorry Driver of the Year Competition is to meet in Coventry on January 16 to decide whether to ban entry of small vans into the Competition. Some criticism has been voiced at earlier meetings of the Executive that small vans, because of their easy manceuvrability, are in an unfairly favourable position in the eliminating rounds.

This year stewards at eliminating rounds were asked to prepare reports on the subject. One proposal for the January meeting is for a minimum unladen weight of one ton in Class A.

At a meeting of the Executive in Coventry last week it was announced that the 1962 final will be held in Coventry at the Massey-Ferguson, Ltd., factory.

. There is a possibility that new centres will be set up at Salisbury and Northamp ton. Thanks to an offer by Express Dairy, Ltd., it may also be possible to stage the Slough round next year on the Express site at Ruislip, Middlesex; the round was cancelled this year because the organizers could not find a ground.

The Executive Committee was also told that there had been interest from at least 400 operators in taking part in a London Area round such as the one staged at Croydon this year,
