AMEETING of the national council of the Road Haulage Association
will be held on January 4. It will then have from its area organizations full information on the attitude of trade and industry towards the revocation of permits and should be able to issue a reasoned statement of policy to members.
It is expected that an intensive publicity campaign in connection with the Transport (Amendment) Bill in the House of Commons will be inaugurated after the meeting.
LESS STEEL NEXT YEAR A LLOCATIONS of sheet steel to the 1-1motor industry for the first quarter of next year, will be 5 per cent, less, taken as a whole, than in the fourth quarter of this year. This information was given to "The Commercial Motor" by a Ministry of Supply spokesman. When the Margam cold reduction plant comes into operation next year, it is hoped to restore adequate supplies. e
