/ The RHA and FTA have both expressed strong opposition to any UK adoption of the forthcoming EC draft directive on speed limits which backs an 80km/h (50mph) top limit for trucks. RHA director general Bryan Colley says: "Journey times would lengthen with a consequent effect on drivers' hours limits this would lead to a rise in hauliers' costs which would result in increased costs to the consumer."
