Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Unions at Parcelforce are continuing negotiations to try to persuade the company to drop its plans for a wage freeze until next April following losses of £75m (CM 18-24 July).

The Union of Communication Workers met Parcelforce yesterday (7 August) and the outcome of the meeting will decide whether the UCW puts the matter into dispute. "Parcelforce still wants to impose a wage freeze but we are hoping for some movement," says the UCW. "If there is no change we will have to decide whether to recommend industrial action."

The UCW describes negotiations as 'very delicately balanced" but believes a resolution can be reached.
