Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A RANGE of tail-lifts, manufactured in the US by Waltco, is being marketed in the UK by Tirfor Ltd, of Halfway, Sheffield. The lifts, it is claimed, can be fitted to any chassis in about six or eight hours.

Three variations are available — conventional, flipaway and side loading—ranging from 3,527kg to 13,227kg (1,600lb to 6,0001b) capacity.

Except for certain types of side-loading model the lifts are attached to both chassis and body stringers without the need to modify, cut or alter the existing body. All models are of underchassis design and prices from Tirfor range from £300 to £1,500.

The flipaway is a design which is folded out of the way under the chassis when not in use and allows unobstructed conventional loading and unloading.

The lifts are powered by a battery operated hydraulic motor and loading platforms vary in size from 73.7cm x 2.13m to 1.8m x 2.38m (3Gin x 84in to 72,in x 90in). The lifts do not preclude the use of a towing hitch.
