Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'conventional' transport operation is its need to have the best possible aerodynamics and the lowest possible unladen weight.

The bikes themselves are a unique design from Pinarello, and the carbon-fibre frames are reputed to weigh only 950 grammes.

It is rumoured that every piece of Team Sky's riders' kit was tes ed in a wind tunnel at Southampton University. Even to the point tha the collars on their shirts have been tapered to av id rubbing their Adam's apple.

Iti a bid to smooth out the torque created by the rider as they force the pedals round, the bike's frames are asymmetrical. Since the chain and cogs for the gears Sit on the right-hand side, the frame, with its thicker tubing on the right-hand side, remains more rigid than a normal one. This helps to transfer power to the gears and the road more efficiently and also gives a marginal accelerative advantage when riders sprint out of corners on cobbled surfaces such as those on certain stages of the classic races and on the Tour de France.

CM joined Team Sky on stage one of the Tirreno Adriatico race, which took place in March in Tuscany.

The team was using one coach and one of the Volvo FH rig ids, along with the Jaguar team cars. We were allowed to photograph the immaculate interior of the mobile workshop as the mechanics who are also the team drivers worked on fettling the bikes.

The trucks' body work sides slide out at the touch of a button to create what must be the largest workshop space on the European ProTour.

The conditions in the Volvo's workshop, with the white light, the white panels and the polished stainless steel racks, were reminiscent of a hi-tech science lab. The truck and the coach remained parked up in the grounds of the hotel during the race.

Rival team mechanics were forced to work outdoor: in the worst weather the region ahd experienced for decades. In fact, it snowed during the three days CM was there. Similar to Formula 1, title sponsor branding is all encompassing even the workshop has Sky TV!
