Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• by Colin Barnett Larger 18-26-tonne versions of the Mercedes-Benz Atego, which recently made their UK debut at the CV Show, are beginning to make their presence known on the roads. This 1828 drawbar outfit, the first in the country, is now in operation with removers Luker Bros of Oxford on its regular Swiss service.

The Atego rig has bodywork tailor-made by Robin Sparshatt Associates to Luker's design. The canopy-sided body carries four standard removal containers to full JIB specifications, with a further four in the trailer. A standard Atego day cab was modified by Sparshatt to include an extended Challenger sleeper pad with storage and washing facilities for the two-man crew.

Much further north, a pair of Atego 26286s are included in the 22 Mercedes vehicles acquired by North of Scotland Water since it choose the marque as a major supplier last May The 6x4 Ategos are equipped with Whale 13,620-litre vacuum tanks, used for transporting sewage sludge in the Highlands.

The authority currently has another 27 Mercs, including five more 2628Bs, on order with Western Commercials of Edinburgh. The vehicles, contract hired with Lex Transfleet, encompass much of the range from Sprinters (including 4x4s) up to Actros 2540 6x2 tractors.
