CHLORIDE Technical Ltd will be exhibiting two electrically powered vehicles — Silent Rider and Silent Karrier — at the International Electric Vehicle Exposition and Conference in Chicago from April 26-29.
When the Chicago Exposition closes, Silent Rider will proceed on a tour of the Eastern United States.
At each major city visited — Kansas City, Jackson, Mississippi, Columbus, Georgia and Tampa, Florida — a demonstration will be given to fleet users and the Press.
Silent Rider, a 50-seat single deck bus, has been developed by Chloride in conjunction with Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive.
In March 1976 Chloride UK Ltd and the National Freight Corporation, introduced the Silent Karrier — a 35cwt delivery van.
Based on the Chrysler 'Walk-Thru' chassis with a shortened wheelbase, this vehicle has been operating in the Midlands and the North East ever since its initial launch.
Silent Karrier is now in production and a batch of 15 will be delivered in August 1977.
