BY using a through road which includes a tunnel under the Maas, vehicles are able to cross Rotterdam, with its 750,000 population, in a matter of minutes. This is one of the road projects which, as reported in The Commercial Motor last week, the party organized by the British Road Federation is to study during a Continental visit beginning on April 18.
Representatives of 14 civic authorities, 10 trade and industrial organizations and 18 business houses will be included in a party of 72 members, who will fly from London to Amsterdam on a five-day inspection of motorways in Holland, Belgium and Germany.
The party will meet Dutch, Belgian and West German Ministers, and will discuss with them the economic advantages of motorways,
