from Plymouth to Santander, northern Spain, should mean that you travel all the way to your destination by boat. Shouldn't it? Not so for more than 1,300 ferry.passengers last week, who faced a 1,078km drive after the two-week-old ship taking them from Plymouth to Santander broke down near Roscoff, northern France.
Another 1,100 waiting for the Brittany Ferries flagship, thestiretagne, at Santander, were then asked to drive to Roscoff, where it was being repaired, to meet it. Not a ferry nice experience. . .
