FORMER managing director of Leyland Trucks, Ron Hancock, has been appointed chairman of Chloride Overseas. Hancock resigned from Leyland earlier this year after having been accused of inside share dealings — an accusation of which he was subsequently cleared after court procedings.
Chloride Overseas is one of three international divisions of the Chloride Group and is responsible for the manufacturing and marketing of batteries and battery-related systems in areas of the world excluding Europe and America.
In his new job Hancock succeeds Charles Mackay, who has been appointed chairman, Chloride Power Electronics. He also rejoins his former boss Sir Michael Edwardes, who returned to head Chloride after having been chairman and chief executive of BL,
