• A roll-on/roll-off terminal for services to Ireland is to be built at the western side of Fleetwood harbour in the River Wyre. Work is scheduled to start immediately and the terminal should be operational by the autumn of 1974.
A contract worth about Lim has been awarded by the British Transport Docks Board for the work to Harbour and General Works Ltd.
