• Last week Repcon (UK) Ltd opened new service and repair depot for containers and trailers at West Thurrock, Essex. It is the biggest of Repcon's repair bases, of which there is now a nationwide network, and on a 71--acre site will eventually have 40,000 SO ft of workshop capacity.
Shot-blasting, painting and other finishing facilities are available, as well as major and minor structural repair.
A stock of £50,000-worth of parts and materials will be carried, and 100 staff will be employed. The five-vehicle mobile repair service is also to be extended.
Repcon is also planning or building new works at Coatbridge, Leeds, Felixstowe and Manchester.
