Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Axel Engineering Ltd is the name that has been registered for the Metropolitan Cammell Ltd subsidiary which as revealed exclusively in CM on July 20 — is studying the possibility of producing truck chassis of its own design.

The truck design company has no direct connection with Metropolitan Cammell's business but the latter will be Axel's holding company in the Laird Group structure, of which both are part.

One of Axel's projects is understood to be a 16-ton-gvw rigid chassis/cab. The design investigations are being undertaken by a team led by Mr Steve Oxley, formerly chief engineer of Atkinson Vehicles Ltd.

CM was told this week that the team was being built up, mainly by recruits from the engineering side of the truck manufacturing industry.
