BY far the largest application to be notified this week comes from the Yorkshire Area, where Cutts and Fletcher, Ltd., of Woolley, near Wakefield, ask for 24 vehicles totalling 161-,I tons to be authorized under a new B licence. They wish to carry coal, coke and salt for certain named customers, and the vehicles, apparently, are currently operating under the authorization of contract A licences which the applicants propose to surrender.

Two substantial B to A licence transfers are also notified. The largest concerns an application to the Eastern Licensing Authority by L. G. Perfect (Haulage), Ltd., of Great Yarmouth, who seek a variation of an A licence by the addition of 12 vehicles of a total unladen weight of 411 tons. If the application succeeds, the applicants will surrender 11 vehicles operating under a B licence. No normal user is given, although the application does refer to several previous "A and D" numbers.

In the Northern Western publication, Macclesfield hauliers F. C. Jackson, Ltd., wish to vary an A licence by the addition of eight flat vehicles weighing 32 tons unladen. They are to be hired, and if the application is granted, Jackson's propose to surrender two B licences authorizing an unspecified number of vehicles.
