I read with complete horror the letter "Tailgate terror" from Anthony Phillips (CM9-15 Sept).
While I agree tailgating exists, the upset and distress this letter has now caused is beyond belief.
lam a close friend of the lorry driver involved and know all the details of the tragedy. It is quite clear that Mr Phillips does not: tailgating was not a factor in this accident and it was wrong to assume it was.
The driver was exonerated of all blame and now needs support to get over this accident and on with his life. Unfortunately this letter has caused more pain and upset. Mrs C Wilde, Leamington Spa, Warks.
