• Initial Textile Services is to buy 64 Leyland Daf 400-based route delivery vans. Fitted with bodies by Cartwrights of Altrincham, the design is based on the lightweight prototype parcels van that C,artwrights built for Parcelforce last year, with Carbofont composite panels
and a flat floor. Initial's vehicles are built on LD's long-wheelbase chassis cab rather than the extralong bases of the Parcelforce vehicle; they are fitted with rear quarter doors and air suspension; they have a load volume of 12.9m1 (4550. The order is worth around £1.5 million.
