Managing director Gwyn Davies said he was unhappy with third-party contractors and, if the increase was granted, the number of sub-contractors would be reduced. Company staff try not to work on weekends and managers said they would prefer to work 12 hours a day but their customers would not allow it.
Sullivan said the company was making every effort to improve the comfort of the residents.
