Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Referring to our correspondent Berresford Tpt, CM, I recommend using reconditioned secondhand chassis parts, not cannabilising old pensioned-off vehicles for part-worn spares.

Often, the cost of parking old vehicles, the labour involved in stripping parts and the inevitable lack of knowledge as to their condition, once stripped, results in greater expense than purchasing new parts.

Build a stock of reconditioned replacement parts, by all means, but do not rely on secondhand spares to keep you running. Labour costs are far too high to justify any chance of premature failure. RON DOUGLAS
