AN. addition to the mobile shop fleet of the Navy, Army and' Air. Force Institute has gone into service in the Salisbury Plain area. The vehicle, built by Coachcraft, Ltd., of Croydon', Surrey, to Naafi specification, is based on the Thames 5-ton-chassis with a 60-in. Baico extension. •

Alloy panels cover the ash frame, and the entire body is insulated with lablite of one-inch thickness. There are separate entrance and exit, doors at the rear, and the roof has three Weathershields coachtype ventilators and two air intakes.

Shop equipment, includes a deep-freeze cabinet, with its charging plant. on _the vehicle, and 196 ft. of Formica-covered shelving with cupboard space, beneath. Commodity compartnients arc separated by Perspex-panels, and an electric Sweda cash register is conveniently located near the exit door. A Calor gas invector heater is installed and the shop is lit by eight jellymould lamps of coach pattern. There are three large windows on each side of the body. The operating crew are normally a driver/salesman and a cashier.
