THE Minister of Transport is proposing .to. take steps to combat the . misuse of excess fuel devices on diesel engines, the use of which often results in emission of black smoke. Vehicle, being a vehicle propelled by a:compression-ignition engine, is fitted with a device which facilitates starling of the engine by causing it to be supplied with excess fuel, any apparatus by means of which the device is operated shall be fitted in such a. position That it cannot be operated by the driverof the vehicle while he is driving."

Comments from operators, organizationsand manufacturers have been requested to be Made by not later than November 25.
