THE annual general meeting of the automobile division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers will be held on October 11, at 5.30 pan., at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London, W.I. The chairman will give an address on ignition equipment.
Other events scheduled to take place at the institution's premises at Storey's Gate, St. James's Park, London, S.W.1, include lectures by J. L. Hepworth, B.Sc. (Eng.), A.M.I.Mech.E., on "Piston Assembliesfor Road Transport Oil Engines," on November 8; "Internal Expanding Shoe Brakes for Road Vehicles," by I. M. Waller, B.A., A.M.I.Mech.E., December 13; and "Electrical Equipment for Automobiles," by W. Kendall, A.M.I.Mech.E., January, 10, 1950. The institution's annual dinner will be held at the Dorchester Hotel on October 20.
