Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

rHARACTERIZED by extreme sim4,--oplicity of construction and low cost, the range of Wrigley works trucks now available should make a particular appeal to those undertakings to which high initial outlay on mechanical handling equipment is discouraging.

The latest additions to the range comprise a stillage truck with hydraulically operated platform, and a truck with a tipping body. Wrigley trucks are built to the same basic specification in respect of the front-wheel driving and steering assembly, the essential differences being in the rear framing, or in the type of body.

The ViWers I h.p, four-stroke engine which provides the power, drives an Albion three-speed gearbox by roller chain. From the gearbox, the drive is taken by a second chain to a sprocket on the single front wheel. Steering is effected by turning the front wheel, Complete with its assembly.

One of the new trucks, known as Model 206, is intended for use with stillages having only 6-in, clearance to the underside of the platform. It is, therefore, suitable for employment with the Collis type of stillage. The hydraulic lifting gear is hand-operated, the height of lift being 34ins.

The front end of the platform is carried on two 5-in, steel wheels, whilst at the rear there are two spring-loaded c6

jockey wheels wh'.e.h give greater stability when high loads are being dealt with, or when the truck is being driven over uneven floors. This truck, which has a load capacity of 10 cwt., sells for 195, the stillage price being

15s.

Model 207 has a balanced tipping body, the chassis being 8 ins, longer than the standard Motor Tug, Model 203. At its forward end the body is secured to the chassis by a spring-loaded catch, and when this is released, the body can be tipped manually. The tipping angle is 45 degrees, and body capacity 8 cubic fh, or a load of '10 cwt. Overall dimensions of Allis model are: Length, 6 ft. 8 ins.; width. 3 ft. 4 ins.; and height, 3 ft. 4 ins.

The body is made' of wood with a steel frame. The size of the floor is 3 ft. 9 ins. by 2 ft, the. sides of the body, which are 11 ins. ,deep, tapering out to give a rim size of 3 ft. 9 ins. by 2 ft

7 ins. The wheelbase of this model is 4 ft. 8 ins, and the track 2 ft. 10 ins.

When the load permits, the operative can ride oaths truck, and provision is made for this by fitting a detachable seat and foot rest.

The complete truck, with wood body, costs £95, or with sheet-metal-lined body, £98. The maker of Wrigley. trucks is Wessex Industries (Poole), Ltd., West Street, Poole, Dorset.
