• Swift Service—the industrial division of Salvesen Logistics—has a £3m threeyear contract with National Packaging, the UK's largest distributor of packaging materials. Swift will be operating transport services for the company's 38 regional branches linked to National Packaging's new distribution centre in Coventry.
• Securicor Omega Express (UK parcel delivery) and Securicor Omega Express International (UK heavy and Euron parcels) have jointly won a contract with Man, 3ronze, a supplier of parts to major car manufacturers, worth £250,000 over one year.
• Hays Distribution Specialist Services has renewed a deal with highstreet retailer Next for the delivery of furniture from instore and catalogue orders under on on-going contract.
• Truck rental firm Ryder is to supply nine new vehicles under a seven-year contract hire agreement to bed manufacturer Re yon, in a deal worth 22m. The vehicles will be serviced at Ryder's workshop based at Relyon's Wellington, Somerset site.
• Wincanton Logistics has secured a five-year distribution contract extension with Anson Packaging. Wincanton will handle distribution of polypropylene plastic trays from Anson's base in Ely, Cambridgeshire to 300 food companies.
• The multi-million pound Wincanton-managed automated National Distribution Centi c for Lever Brothers based at Preston Brook in Cheshire has opened.
