Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A code of practice governing the quality and reliability of windscreen repairs has been drawn up by a BSI working party which includes members of the repair industry, glass manufacturers and the Department of Transport.

In the code (BSAL: 242) the windscreen is divided into four sections: zone A, a 350mm wide strip, central with the driver's seat which runs from the top to the bottom of the area covered by the wiper: zone B, the rest of the area covered by the driver's wiper: zone C, the remaining wiped area: and zone D, all non-wiped areas.

There are no repairs allowed in area A. For CVs the allowable repairs in B, C and D must be contained within a circle of 15mm, 25mm and 40mm diameter respectively. In addition, cracks up to 150mm long can be repaired in all areas except zone A. However, no two repaired areas should be within I 00mm of each other.
