• Parking problems, and a lack of covered maintenance facilities at an operating centre, led to Leeds haulier Alan Thompson appearing at a disciplinary inquiry before North Eastern Deputy Licensing Authority H Anthony Richardson.
Thompson holds a licence for six vehicles and five trailers based at Scotch Park Trading Estate, Armley.
Richardson said that in July 1987, Thompson had given an undertaking not to park vehicles on land belonging to local company, Masschart. That company had complained that Thompson's vehicles were still on its property. Richardson adjourned the proceedings for a further report from the vehicle examiner.
