and a growing number of businesses are changing the face of their vehicle fleets with distinctive, personalised paintwork that provides the best 'free' advertisement a company can buy.

Vehicle manufacturers themselves have made some effort to satisfy demand with stick-on decor stripes, and Herberts has responded to this trend with a revolutionary range of paint design systems, capable of creating everything from a simple logo to the most elaborate landscape. Earlier this year, Herberts joined forces with Inchmere Design in Banbury to launch a new Livery Design Pack specifically for commercial vehicles.

The Livery Design Pack is an excellent promotional tool for all refinishers who wish to effectively demonstrate their abilities and services to their customers. Neatly packaged in a sturdy plastic briefcase, it enables the presentation of different colour variations to the customer with transparent commercial vehicle silhouettes that allow the customer to visualize the colour effect that will be achieved on his vehicle.

The Livery Design Pack contains four A3 design boards, a chassis and body specifications folder, a set of coloured fibre tip pens and a booklet listing the livery design colours. There is a choice of 44 colour samples, 21 typefaces and 20 commercial vehicle stencils. Vehicle outlines range from a Luton van to a fullsize artic, as well as various cab and trailer configurations.

An example design board is included to explain how to select cab and body styles by utilising special cling overlays, and how to indicate paint and typeface required. Logo styles can be taken from company business cards or letterheads. After liaising with the customer completed designs can be executed by the bodyshop or, alternatively, sent to Inchmere Design for the production of artwork and decals. To ensure a seamless transition between paint and decals, Herberts has matched its CV paint systems to the Fasson range of decals.

Three-day training courses for Design Painting are offered at Herberts' Training School. They include practical work involving pearlescents and brilliant colours, along with airbrush techniques and the creation of special effects.

The Livery Design Pack is available now from Herberts distributors.
