The manufacture and repair of today's commercial vehicle bodies demands sophisticated techniques and technologically advanced products to achieve the highest quality possible. This applies to everything from the smallest rivet to the final coat of paint.
As we approach 1992 and look forward to a fully compatible Transport Industry, it is no longer sufficient to build a body for the U.K. when our industries of the future will operate as 'European' businesses. Now, to allow us to compete effectively, we have BS5750, the British equivalent of the international IS09000 and European EN29000 standards.
BS5750 relates to the attitude of an entire establishment and assesses the efficiency of a company in delivering a product or service of a required standard to the customer In the case of a bodyshop, this includes establishing the requirements of each customer's vehicle — whether a body requires building, refurbishment, relivery or repair — a procedure for the ordering of any necessary parts, and a check that all tools are calibrated for use by trained and authorised staff. To ensure that Herberts continued to provide products that met these demands, we took the steps of applying BS5750/1509000 to our business several years ago. We are now proud to possess full certification to the highest attainable level.
