• The MoT test on cars and light vans now includes petrol exhaust emission. ABS warning Light and rear wheel bearing checks. Initial results indicate that 1-in-3 vehicles are failing the emission test. From 1 December tolerance on headlamp aim is to be tightened. From 1 January vehicle windscreens will be checked and the minimum tyre tread depth increases to 1.6mm.
