BOWATER SCOTT, maker of tissue products, has standardised on Tidd box bodies for its rigid fleet and is changing over to Strongbox trailers, too.
Its latest order for 20 boxvans mounted on Ford Cargo chassis are all of Tidd grp construction.
Superficial knocks, scrapes, and abrasion can be dealt with by the operator. Tidd has introduced a repair kit consisting of all the necessary resins and materials.
Cost reductions, through reduced downtime and lower insurance premiums, have been possible, claims Torn Davis, Bowater Scott's fleet engineer, who said he appreciates the bodies' long service life and resistance to water seepage.
